My name is Joakim Turesson, and as a consultant at Adviser Partner, my calling is to transform sales into something magical—a place where people connect and results are achieved. My journey began with a childhood dream of becoming a fighter pilot, but life had other plans.
At the age of 21, I was thrust into the IT industry, where—after just one year as a sales representative—I became sales manager. That role taught me how much experience can sometimes matter. I was young and ambitious, but I realized I needed to grow. So I made the move to the client side, where I positioned myself as a consultant to manage and support complex procurement projects.
At the age of 24, I started my first company in the civil engineering sector, and just one year later, I founded my second company, which I sold to a larger firm. There, I became the sales manager for their major telecom initiatives.
During those years, we hired Adviser Partner, and I was blown away by their approach—concrete tools that made our entire organization sharper and faster. Even then, I dreamed that one day I would be part of their team. But the journey there wasn’t straightforward. I started another company, where we helped businesses turn satisfied customers into brand ambassadors. Through extensive travel, I gained broad experience in all the nuances of sales.
In 2020, I called the CEO of Adviser Partners, and three days later I was on board. Today, some clients call me “Dr. Turesson—The Sales Doctor” because I’m a true sales nerd, obsessed with the systematic and process-oriented aspects of B2B sales, and even more passionate when I get to weave those principles into B2C to create magic.
For me, sales is all about people—seeing the customer as a person, not just a transaction. When I coach and see the light bulb go off for my clients, when they grasp the tools and see the bigger picture, that’s when an unbeatable “WOW” feeling sets in. That feeling can only be matched by a day in the Stockholm archipelago, a run down a slalom slope, or when I cook a gourmet dinner for my family.
With the same passion and precision, I'll take your sales to the next level—with passion, a solid process, and a touch of magic!
We Love Salespeople
I’ve always been fascinated by what really makes people say yes. In this episode of We Love Sales People, I talk with Jonas Olofsson, CEO of Adviser Partner, about something that affects every business deal—how emotions drive our purchasing decisions. We dive deep into sales psychology and discuss why logic is rarely the deciding factor, and how you can instead build trust, engagement, and genuine influence by understanding the customer’s emotional drivers.
When a salesperson truly understands what’s going on in the customer’s world—their feelings, fears, dreams, and goals—magic happens.
I've seen time and time again how a single, truly great conversation can change a company's growth trajectory.
Sales isn't a profession. It's a human interaction.
People don't buy based on logic. They feel first—and then use logic to justify their decision.
Every decision is governed by the brain’s neurotransmitters: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and cortisol.
When you learn to understand these and how they affect the customer's state of mind, you won't just become a better salesperson—you'll become a better communicator, leader, and person.
I teach salespeople to ask the right questions in the right order, so that customers can discover for themselves why they need to make a change.
When the customer feels that the idea is their own, their resistance disappears.
It's not manipulation—it's empathy combined with structure.
I usually say, “Good salespeople don’t push—they bring out what’s already there in the customer.”
The brain reacts differently depending on how you, as a salesperson, communicate.
Pressure and stress trigger cortisol—which causes the customer to tune out.
A sense of security, curiosity, and understanding trigger the release of oxytocin and dopamine—which makes the customer more open to making a decision.
When you learn to recognize and influence these states in an ethical way, sales becomes almost like real-time brain research.
I combine modern sales psychology with practical Swedish sales culture.
It’s not just about “more activity”—it’s about the right kind of activity, where every conversation is based on emotional intelligence, a clear structure, and a genuine human connection.
My goal isn't just to boost the client's numbers—it's to change how they think, feel, and act in every interaction with a client.
The result is: more meetings, bigger deals—and, above all, customers who want to buy.
